Since debuting in 1995, the show has spawned a number of versions across CNBC's international channels, many of which employ a similar format. The program title originates from a term used in investment banks and stock brokerages for a permanent voice circuit or intercom used to communicate stock deals or sales priorities.

Europe This Week is a business news show aired on CNBC Europe and on CNBC World in the US, co-presented by Guy Johnson and Louisa Bojesen, from 6pm to 6:30pm CET on Fridays. The programme, presented from CNBC Europe's London studios, examines stock markets and the economy in Europe during the past week, and sets the agenda for the coming week. Occasionally, special editions of the programme are presented on location from the site of EU summits and major elections. Premiering on 10 stations on September 16, 2002, The Daily Buzz is currently carried on stations in 180 U.S. television markets. The show normally airs for 3 hours every day in the 6:00AM-9:00AM time slot, with start and running times varying by market. The show is also streamed live-to-air on its TheDBZ.com website.

Scotland Today was a Scottish regional news programme covering Central Scotland, produced by STV Central. Despite its name suggesting a national remit, the programme was actually limited to stories around STV's Central Belt franchise. North Tonight covered STV's North Scotland region, until both programmes were renamed as STV News at Six in March 2009.

3 News is the television, internet and radio news service of New Zealand's first private commercial television channel TV3. The flagship news bulletin is the nightly 6pm news, but 3 News also has morning, midday and evening news bulletins, as well as several current affairs shows. As the news brand of MediaWorks, 3 News produces bulletins live from Auckland on TV3 and an hour later on 3+1, it produces video, audio and article news for 3news.co.nz, and reports news for Radio Live news bulletins.
