A coté de cela, il effectue quelques recherches sur l'occulte, se lie d'amitié avec le baron Ulrich, un aristocrate local, se drogue pour le plaisir et consomme quelques galons d'absinthe. Le quotidien d'Abel va être chamboulé quand il découvre sur la plage une main droite de jeune femme, portant un étrange tatouage sur la paume...
