Une abbaye de capucins découvre un matin un bébé abandonné devant sa porte. Le supérieur demande aux frères de trouver une famille d'adoption. Mais entre celles qui refusent et celles qui ne plaisent pas aux frères, Marcelino restera à l'abbaye. Il grandit et les frères, vite dotés de surnoms malicieux, découvrent qu'ils ne peuvent pas tout lui apporter.
