On a trip back to Canada to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary, Tom Marlow (Corey Haim) wakes to find his beloved wife missing. Their vacation home - now a crime scene - is now littered with clues to his wife's whereabouts. In order to ensure her safe return, Tom, now a stranger in the land of his birth is forced to cooperate with the practices of local authorities, the political rhetoric of the American Embassy and the unorthodox methods of a Private Investigator he hired to help him.

Set in the aftermath of a large-scale disaster, a small group of people remain behind in search of lost sons and new worlds. Two lovers, River and Lill, fend for the future of their bond whilst mysterious entities stalk the countryside, hungry for humanity’s lifeforce.

Agoraphobe, Katherine Sullivan n'est pas sortie de sa luxueuse demeure fortifiée depuis déjà trois ans. Elle gère ses affaires depuis son bureau ultramoderne et seule sa soeur Sarah est autorisée à lui rendre visite. Elle est mariée à Charles, dont elle pense qu'il lui est infidèle - des soupçons confirmés par sa trouvaille d'un bijou dans l'un des costumes de son époux. Un soir, elle entend Charles hurler à l'extérieur de la maison et se précipite jusqu'à la porte d'entrée pour lui ouvrir : il s'effondre à ses pieds, mort. Des policiers, arrivés rapidement, emportent le corps à la morgue et font enlever la voiture de la victime.
