À la mort de sa mère, Gadi, un jeune homme aux besoins spécifiques, est hébergé chez son père, Ruben, un homme âgé qui l’avait abandonné alors qu’il était un jeune garçon. La cohabitation est difficile. Chacun vit dans son univers. Ruben ne comprend pas l’anormalité de son fils qui l’a conduit à le délaisser et Gadi en veut à son père de ne pas avoir été là. Des années plus tard, alors qu’une réelle affection va naître entre ces deux êtres si différents, les reins de Ruben sont défaillants et Gadi veut lui faire don d’un de ses propres reins.

At thirty-seven, Miri is a twice-widowed, El Al flight attendant. Her well-regulated existence is suddenly turned upside down by an abandoned Chinese boy whose migrant-worker mother has been summarily deported from Israel. The film is a touching comic-drama in which two human beings -- as different from each other as Tel Aviv is from Beijing -- accompany each other on a remarkable journey, one that takes them both back to a meaningful life.
