The year is 1971. Jennifer, a troubled actress, is institutionalized following psychotic visions on the set of her latest film. Upon her release, Jennifer becomes stranded in the desert only to be rescued by a colorful band of nomadic rebels. Helpless and alone, Jennifer has no choice but to follow them and is subtly but swiftly introduced into their family. That night, a local desert dweller tells them of an abandoned house and warns them to stay away. The family ignores the warning and uses the house as their latest crash pad. Jennifer becomes further plagued by sinister visions that reduce her ability to separate reality from fantasy. Soon members of the family are mysteriously killed one by one in the legend known as the "Slaughterhouse Of the Rising Sun"...

Dave is convinced that his knock-out girlfriend Jamie is cheating on him, despite his best friend Victoria's reassurance that it's all in his head. After following Jamie to a "study group" one night, Dave is shocked to learn that his girlfriend is the leader of a conspiratorial group of ex girlfriends, whose sole purpose is to torment him and ruin his life. Following the discovery, Dave finds himself tumbling through a series of adventures as he attempts to unveil the truth, all while getting his life back on track. With the guidance of several questionable comrades, and the help of the conspirators' alluring new but reluctant recruit Katie, Dave ultimately pieces the puzzle together and finds out the hard way that sometimes true love is worth fighting for.

Cette série met en scène la vie quotidienne d'une famille américaine. Le père, profondément machiste, déteste son boulot de vendeur de chaussures, et n'est heureux que dans son canapé devant la télé avec une main dans le pantalon ; sa famille l'exaspère Sa fille, Kelly, est l'exemple type de la blonde complètement idiote, son fils Bud tente désespérément de ramener des filles à la maison, et sa femme Peggy est mère au foyer, mais en 20 ans de mariage elle n'a jamais fait la cuisine, la vaisselle, ni lavé le linge, et adore rester devant la télé quand Al est au travail, ou faire du shopping avec le peu d'argent que gagne son mari. Comme si cela ne suffisait pas, Al doit également supporter Marcy, la voisine qu'il qualifie de « dinde aux mamelles atrophiées » et qui passe son temps à le critiquer avec l'aide de Peggy. Heureusement, il y a Jefferson et Steeve, deux hommes prisonniers de Marcy par le mariage, qui eux aussi fréquentent le « Nibar'bar ».
