They form a partnership whereby Elliott will handle the technical aspects, and Bob will write the dialogue for the talking animals. They go to Hollywood, where they start work on the film with the financial help of a producer. However, when half of the scenes are completed, they run the scenes for the producer, who walks out and refuses to put any more money in the project.

Nevertheless, Pappy (Charley Chase) could use Jimmie to defend him in a breach of promise lawsuit. Miss Lavinia Watkins sued him for not tying the knot, after pledging to marry her. The case is resolved as the courtroom becomes a dance floor, and everyone celebrates.

Lemuel then finds Tom meeting with his golf committee rather than working. When the boys argue that business is only a means to an end, and that happiness and enjoyment of life are desired goals, Lemuel counters their contentions by declaring that what they really need are wives and tells them that Dorothy and Rose Gregson, the daughters of an old friend, will soon be visiting.
