Polish director Krzysz Zanussi uses this scenario to stick it to capitalist corruption, and to society's destruction of the individual spirit. Leslie Caron, the one recognizable member of the cast, is outstanding as a wealthy, over-the-hill ballerina who happens to be a kleptomaniac.

Jusqu’au jour où, pris à parti par un Kapo, il est contraint de dévoiler sa vraie nature. D’abord tentés de le sanctionner sévèrement, les officiers du camp lui propose un marché : participer à des combats pour divertir les soldats, et bénéficier en échange de nourriture, de médicaments, et de tâches allégées. Pourtant discret et solitaire, Teddy y voit une opportunité d’améliorer les conditions de ses camarades. Mais les geôliers voient d’un mauvais oeil la popularité grandissante du boxeur, devenu symbole d’espoir et de résistance.

The geodesists' projects arouse the indignation of one of the local farmers, Biernacki ( Wiesław Gołas ). The envisaged route is to run through the land belonging to it. To save his patrimony, Biernacki is ready to pay a bribe. The dispute between the host and the surveyors is cruelly resolved in front of the party dignitaries participating in the nearby banquet. Jerzy Gruza's painting is a sharp satire of manners, criticizing social relations from the end of the Gierek era.

May 24, 2008Kryminalni was a Polish crime drama television series that aired on TVN network from September 18, 2004 until May 24, 2008. It ran for 8 seasons and 101 episodes were broadcast in total. It was created by Polish director and screenwriter Piotr Wereśniak and produced by MTL Maxfilm studio.
The series followed life and work of police officers from the elite Criminal Terror and Murders Division of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police; the title refers to police officers in the crime section. The three main characters were Adam Zawada, an experienced, tough cup, his younger colleague Marek Brodecki and Barbara Storosz, an ambitious female officer who in the first season joins the team just after graduating.
Although none of the main actors had had star status before the series debuted, all three of them rose to prominence and popularity during the 5-year-long run. Many of Poland's best known actors guest starred, usually playing roles of people involved in just one particular investigation. The serial was one of the most popular in Poland: each week it had an audience of 4 million.
