Sur le point de perdre un emploi mal payé et l’appartement dont il est locataire, Vatroslav, étudiant installé à Zagreb, accepte la proposition de son collègue et camarade Filip de le remplacer et d’aider sa grand-mère Mariljka avec la cueillette des tomates à Little Head, une île isolée des Dalmates.
