Gerbino de la Ratta, qui a des vues sur elle et sa fortune, menace de lui confisquer sa maison, sauf si Pampinea l'épouse. Elle s'oppose à sa proposition en lui avouant qu'elle a été promise à un Comte Russe qui est en route pour Florence.
