Trente ans plus tard, je me rends à Macao où je ne suis jamais revenu depuis mon enfance. J’ai reçu un mail à Lisbonne de Candy, une amie dont je n’avais plus de nouvelles depuis longtemps. Elle disait s’être encore aventurée avec les mauvais garçons et elle me priait de venir à Macao où se passaient des choses effrayantes, selon ses propres mots.
Fatigué, après des heures de vol, j’approche de Macao à bord du ferry qui me fera remonter le temps, jusqu’à la période la plus heureuse de ma vie.
