Après s'être libéré de sa captivité, le célèbre pirate Jeffrey Brook atterrit sur une île des Caraïbes. On dit qu'une grande quantité d'or y est entreposée. Afin d'accéder au trésor, Brook accepte l'offre de l'officier britannique Jackson.

A very unlikely trio join forces in order to rob a bank: an ex-bandit called Smith, now a cheerful reverend, a nomadic artist and a pickpocket. Their plan is successful, however, and the three make off with the money from the bank's vaults, only to find themselves robbed of their newly-acquired wealth by a young schoolmistress.

Pasqualino Cammarata is an Italian naval officer who has been disliked by his admiral because of his high-level knowledge, given that he is quite incapable as an officer.

A woman, who has just separated from her husband, comes to stay at the villa of the friend. The friend is away (and throughout the whole movie only appears as a voice on the phone), but the woman's goofy son (who looks like he just escaped from the Monkees) is staying there too. The son falls for her, not surprisingly since she always dresses in skimpy miniskirts or bikinis, and rarely closes the door when she is changing clothes or showering.
