Dans un pays où le baseball est prédominant deux frères, Daniel et Julio, se battent pour sortir de la violence et de la pauvreté de leur quartier de La Ceniza, à Caracas, grâce au football. Daniel est un attaquant exceptionnel, un phénomène avec le ballon. Julio, l'aîné, est le capitaine de l'équipe, un leader né. Daniel souhaite très fort devenir joueur professionnel tandis que Julio doit faire vivre la famille; il n'a pas le temps de rêver. Mais ils vont avoir la grande opportunité de sortir de la misère quand un chasseur de talents les invite à une séance d'essais pour le célèbre club de la capitale du Venezuela, le Caracas Football Club. Mais une tragédie va frapper la famille : le mère de Daniel et Julio est tuée au cours d'une fusillade. Les deux frères doivent alors décider de ce qui est le plus important pour eux : l'union de la famille, la vengeance ou atteindre le rêve de toute leur vie.

"Hijos de la tierra" presents a drama set a little before the 1920s, in which scattered news, stories and rumors spread the presence of a new wealth, oil, leading to the suspicion that a great change was about to take place.

This film is based on the controversial case of real life on the murder of the student from Santa Rosa Catholic University by a country famed psychiatrist. The story then begins when a young woman named Sofía Méndez Contreras was found dead. The detectives Daniel Estevez and Eduardo Chacón will begin a hard investigation to catch the suspect of the crime; the first suspect is an important and renowned psychiatrist, called Elías Aponte. The only incriminating evidence is the written of the victim in her personal diary and blog online. The detectives must appeal their knowledge to determinate if the victims notes are real or just a fantasy created by a psychiatric patient.

Andrés and Julissa now parents to a seven year old Carlitos struggle to live happily as a family despite being fervent fans of rival teams and of Vicente's (Julissa's father) disapproval.
