Tout sourit à Fouad, jeune acteur star d’une série télévisée et fiancé de Jasmine, la fille du candidat favori à l’élection présidentielle, Idder Chaouch. Mais le jour de l’élection, Chaouch est la cible d’un tireur... qui appartient à la famille de Fouad...

Seul survivant de l'effondrement d'un immeuble qui abritait une importante affaire de drogue qui a mal tourné, Malik, un orphelin comorien de 17 ans, est envoyé en prison après avoir été tiré des décombres avec des paquets de cocaïne cachés dans son corps. Frêle et analphabète, il doit désormais se frayer un chemin et trouver des alliés en prison où les clans règnent en maîtres pour survivre. Mendiant parmi les mendiants, il monte en puissance alors que la prison elle-même devient son professeur de crime.

De retour à Paris après un exil hollywoodien de plusieurs années, Judith, ancienne égérie du cinéma d’auteur, compte bien relancer sa carrière avec un nouveau film. Mais pour l’actrice, la mère et la femme enthousiaste et romantique, pas si simple de démarrer une nouvelle vie. Surtout quand sa fille de 16 ans tombe amoureuse d’un prof de danse bien plus âgé qu’elle. Dans un monde qui change, entre humour et désillusion, Judith va devoir jongler entre ambition personnelle, angoisses maternelles et faire finalement face aux démons de son passé. Mieux qu’une icône, le portrait tout en autodérision et contradictions d’une femme avec ses aspirations, ses peurs, ses passions et surtout la soif de conquérir sa liberté.

La série est centrée sur les relations complices ou compliquées entre les adolescents et leurs parents. On y découvre un groupe d'amis au sein d'une même classe. Chaque épisode se focalise sur l'un d'eux et sur sa famille. D'épisode en épisode, le personnage central devient un personnage secondaire et inversement.
