L’intrigue se situe aux alentours des dynasties Qin et Han, et commence avec l’attaque d’un camp de banditsdans le desert par le Général Wang Sheng et ses hommes. Pendant l’opération, le militaire porte secours à Xiao Wei, une jeune femme faite prisonnière. Celle-ci tombe immédiatement amoureuse.
