The story of six Polish emigrants living in New York City, who try to live their American Dream and cope with the realities of the Big Apple.

Charles sits for hours in a wardrobe in a rented room on the attic, looking back on his whole life. He was brought up by a single mother who loved his only child with a sick desperate feeling and limited all his world to her own person. Charles' tragedy began with his adolescence. It made his mother aware of her feminity that resulted in her new marriage. Together with a new husband she decided to send the boy to a school for retarded children. Upon leaving the school Charles starts to seek his longing mother who moved out, in a meanwhile, not giving any address.

Młody człowiek mieszka na Suwalszczyźnie, ma się żenić z córką miejscowego bogacza. Jest jednak absolwentem konserwatorium, chciałby zostać kompozytorem. Zatrudnia się jako akompaniator popularnej piosenkarki ,która przybyła do miasteczka na gościnne występy.

Mateusz, Igor, Marlon i Paulina chodzą do jednego liceum. Po powrocie z Budapesztu Mateusz dowiaduje się, że jeden z kolegów, niejaki Bąbel, powiesił się na szkolnym boisku. Przejmując się tragedią znajomego chłopaka, postanawia na własną rękę przeprowadzić śledztwo w sprawie jego śmierci. Igor, który znalazł ciało Bąbla, wie co się stało, ale boi się mówić. Podobnie jest z innymi uczniami, nawet nauczycielami, którzy zajęci są głównie swoimi prywatnymi problemami. Ostatnią szansę widzi w rozmowie z zakochaną w nim Pauliną, ale dziewczyna pozostawia go samego w walce o poznanie prawdy.

Kryminalni was a Polish crime drama television series that aired on TVN network from September 18, 2004 until May 24, 2008. It ran for 8 seasons and 101 episodes were broadcast in total. It was created by Polish director and screenwriter Piotr Wereśniak and produced by MTL Maxfilm studio. The series followed life and work of police officers from the elite Criminal Terror and Murders Division of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police; the title refers to police officers in the crime section. The three main characters were Adam Zawada, an experienced, tough cup, his younger colleague Marek Brodecki and Barbara Storosz, an ambitious female officer who in the first season joins the team just after graduating. Although none of the main actors had had star status before the series debuted, all three of them rose to prominence and popularity during the 5-year-long run. Many of Poland's best known actors guest starred, usually playing roles of people involved in just one particular investigation. The serial was one of the most popular in Poland: each week it had an audience of 4 million.
