Cette magnifique production du chef-d’œuvre de Moussorgski, créée en 1994 et saisie ici au Festival de Pâques de Salzbourg en avril 1998, réunit un plateau d’exception. La mise en scène est signée Herbert Wernicke qui propose une lecture vive, réaliste et surtout sociale de Boris Godunov, restituant à l’œuvre sa dimension historique et psychologique, entre l’épopée du peuple russe et le drame shakespearien. Claudio Abbado dirige l’Orchestre philharmonique de Berlin et un chœur de plus de trois cents chanteurs, dans la version de 1872-1874, révisée par le musicologue David Lloyd-Johns en 1975 et qui renoue avec l’orchestration de Moussorgski. Dans le rôle titre du Tsar Boris, Anatoli Kotscherga se voit bientôt défié par Vladimir Galouzine (Dimitri), prétendant enflammé par Alexander Morosov (Pimene) et soutenue par Marjana Lipovšek (Marina).

1987 recording of Wozzeck by the Vienna State Opera with Claudio Abbado conducting. Based upon Georg Büchner's 1837 play, Alban Berg's Wozzeck details the harsh existence of the title character, a former soldier in the German army who has to struggle mightily to make a living, even as others around him prosper.

A psychological interpretation of the opera mixing in references to the history of Germany, Wagner’s life, German literature and philosophy. The action is centered on Wagner’s death mask. Kundry is the main character – one might read the film as the story of her redemption rather than that of Amfortas.

A comedy about the everydaylife of the 30-year-old something nurse Henriette and her life. Her boyfriend is boring and she has an affair with a violent doctor. She shares an apartment with a gay man and she is close with her brother who is a somewhat insecure and love-seeking guy. However, after some unfortunate clashes with the world, Henriette realizes she is able to stand on her own.

In this wry comedy, the self-deceiving exploits of Lasse (Peter Hesse Overgaard), are shown, as he more or less innocently runs small cons on the people in his life, all the while sponging off of his girlfriend in a bohemian quarter of Copenhagen. He is a no-count, but fairly handsome young stud who imagines that he is some sort of art promoter, or is perhaps even a video artist himself.
