Two idiots decide to join the military to earn money. During their training, two recruits become suspicious and decide to expose them before they discover the military's secret weapon.

In the fictional town of Spoggenpoelville, Mr. Spog and Mr. Poel rule supreme. Though not particularly bright, they run and own everything. To boot, they are the town’s mayor and deputy mayor. But one day two men from Johannesburg throw a spanner in the works. Mr. Brand and Mr. Borelli want to buy a piece of Spoggenpoelville, complete with mineral rights. Spog and Poel say no. To retaliate, the two speculators decide to run for mayor and deputy mayor. Suddenly Spog and Poel must learn how to become politicians, charm the ladies and outwit the villains, all the while trying to evade a clown-like figure who wants to sell them a goldmine.

Diamond detective Sergeant Louw is given the difficult task of pursuing Reg Regallo a nightclub owner and diamond smuggler.

Private investigator Boerboel de Wet begins to imagine things when he reads a book about another private detective whose life is a reflection of his own? Or is it the other way around? In real life, Boerboel suddenly comes into money when he saves the life of an antiquities expert. In celebration, Boerboel opens a new office. One of his first clients is Marie.

In order to earn a regular living, two unsuccessful entertainers join the navy. They soon find themselves unwittingly involved in a scheme to smuggle stolen diamonds out of the country.
