Valerio, un quarantenaire à la vie ratée, reçoit une lettre anonyme lui annonçant qu’un présentateur célèbre de programmes pour enfant est sur le point d’être assassiné, il y a même le jour et l’heure. Valerio se rend à la police pour lui confier le pli suspect mais cette dernière ne lui prête aucune attention. Il se rend à la télévision pour rencontrer et avertir le présentateur mais Valerio retrouve ce dernier mort, la tête fracassée à coups de marteau. Une seconde missive lui parvient. Elle annonce cette fois la mort imminente d’un footballeur célèbre. Valerio se rend à l’entrainement, mitraille le footballeur de photos et se décide quand même à aller lui parler. Mais il le retrouve mort dans son vestiaire, la tête également fracassée à coups de marteau…

Two convicts escape from prison and evade the law by taking hostage the middle-class family of a doctor. One of the jailbirds calls the local television station, requesting that they broadcast his demand for a plane so they can escape the country. The television director and his crew show up to film the hostage crisis, and then things get progressively more bizarre and satirical. Not content with the living drama, he directs everyone's actions to make the event more newsworthy.

Three episodes. In the first episode Valerio is mistaken for a notorious criminal. Very beautiful journalists succeed to bring him to her house for an exclusive interview. She tries to seduce him. In the second episode Giuseppe, an unlucky and ugly man, gets a job as a maid. His mistress falls in love for him. In the third episode, Plinio is a taxi driver who loves his cab above all. But at one point he is involved with the kidnapping of a woman.

At carnival, a girl disguised as a devil seduces the parish priest of a village. She becomes pregnant, but the priest can not support his intention to abort and drag her to court.

Carabinieri's lieutenant Duilio Cordelli is in charge of investigating fake banknotes traffic. He discovers that a 60 billion lira bank robbery is linked with his case. Things get more complicated when the main suspected, Lorenzini, is killed. Moreover, Cordelli villa is blown up and the evidence points to the conclusion the whole case could be solved only by flying to London.

The incorruptible judge Annibale Salvemini, starts investigating over a classic Italian business/politics/corruption affair. He start to operate, as usual, very strongly. He orders numberless arrests. But the reaction of counterparts won't take long. In fact his strong energetic manners, drive him unintentionally on the opposite situation. Who is the real guilty the judge or the corrupted Italian society?
