Blasphemer

Il a été réalisé par Sam Dunn (anthropologue) et Scot Mcfadyen en 2005 (sortie en France le 19 juin 2006). Il a pour but d'analyser le milieu du heavy metal d'un point de vue strictement anthropologique.Il se présente sous la forme de différents chapitres retraçant l'apparition de ce genre, ses codes, ses sous-genres, ses modes de vie et même ses dérives (black metal notamment). Le réalisateur essaye également de détruire certains clichés stigmatisant ce milieu tout en restant le plus impartial possible et en faisant intervenir un grand nombre de témoins venus de différents horizons (musiciens ou non).

Features a live show filmed in Marseille, France, on September 24, 1999 and includes interviews with band members and exclusive backstage footage. Also released on DVD with extra features, as Collector's Edition 2x LP vinyl limited to 500 copies & CD limited to 500 copies. The back of the DVD case incorrectly says it was recorded in 1999. The Misanthrope is the film debut from Darkthrone's Nocturno Culto and provides a unique insight into the heart of the Norwegian Black Metal scene.

This live album was recorded at a performance at the Rainbow Club in Milan, Italy in November 1998. The line-up features original Mayhem vocalist Maniac, plus Hellhammer on drums, Necrobutcher on bass & Blasphemer on guitar. The show also features a guest appearance by now-current Mayhem vocalist Attila Csihar on the track ‘From the Dark Past’. With a crystal clear sound & the noticeably stunning drum work of Hellhammer, the band themselves considered this worthy of being labelled an official release, as Mayhem storm through a strong set full of classics from old releases ‘Deathcrush’ & ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’, to the post-Euronymous compositions as featured on ‘Wolf’s Lair Abyss’. Expect nothing but dark & chaotic black metal carnage.
