Giorgio and Marco come from two different worlds: the first is the son of an accomplished lawyer, the second is the son of a farmer. Both guys fight to emancipate themselves from the outskirts of a southern city. They dream of an overwhelming love and, above all, for different reasons, they are burning with the desire to emerge. The force that attracted them, it will force them to fight to be together. The "Empty" that pushes them towards each other will bring Giorgio and Marco chasing each other, walking on the balance of the emptiness that attracts them: two boys and an unexpected love.

The plot focuses on the classic "Italian scams", where those who deceive are in turn duped by other individuals. The amount lost increases from time to time and from the initial thousand euros it reaches a figure equal to two million.

The story of Emma, a courageous woman who left home at a very young age. Emma's first job is working in a paddy field. There she meets Paride, and a romance begins. But amid a workers strike, Paride dies, leaving Emma alone and also pregnant. From this point on Emma struggles for survival.

Tommaso and Pietro are two brothers who, shortly after their father's funeral, discover that the coffin is actually empty. To find out more they leave for Malaysia, where the man died, but a series of misunderstandings and false clues will take them around the world to discover other empty coffins and a father yet to be found and perhaps to know.

A common day in the actual Italy, narrated by the different stories of seven different people, it's the starting point for an overview to the 21st century's italian society, among corrupt politicians, unfaithful husbands, hardcore soccer fans and dishonest businessmen.
