Son commerce, la vente de marijuana, est plus que prospère, aussi veut-elle en obtenir un bon prix. Le "repreneur" auquel elle va céder son téléphone portable (objet magique qui contient les coordonnées de tous ses clients) lui demande 48h pour rassembler l'argent. Pendant ces 48 heures, Anna va se trouver entraînée dans tout un tas d'histoires ô combien islandaises ponctuées de rencontres inattendues et loufoques. Alors qu'elle sillonne l'île d'un bout à l'autre, sa maison se transforme en salle d'attente où ses clients, de plus en plus nombreux, s'impatientent de son retour afin de pouvoir acheter leurs grammes quotidiens.

The three main characters from Næturvaktin, Georg Bjarnfreðarson, Ólafur Ragnar and Daníel, have become imprisoned in the infamous Litla-Hraun prison following the murder of the hotel owner in Dagvaktin. The story is continued, and brought to a conclusion, in the feature film Bjarnfreðarson.
The first episode was broadcast on Stöð 2 on Sunday, 27 September 2009, and an episode was broadcast each following Sunday until the final seventh episode aired on 8 November 2009. The series has been released on DVD.
