Cet incident survenant peu avant les présidentielles, le chef de cabinet du président en exercice craint qu'il n'ait des répercussions sur la campagne électorale. Il décide de taire l'affaire du crash et de faire endosser la responsabilité de la mort du pilote aux deux astronautes rescapés. Ces deux derniers vont tout faire pour faire éclater la vérité…
