Louis quitte Clotilde avec qui il a eu un enfant pour Claudia. Louis et Claudia font du théâtre. L'un enchaîne les rôles tandis que l'autre ne joue pas. Claudia aime Louis, mais elle a peur qu'il la quitte. Un soir, elle fait la rencontre d'un architecte qui lui propose du travail. Le parcours du combattant va petit à petit se transformer en parcours initiatique, faisant découvrir au jeune homme candide et un peu hautain certaines réalités de la vie qui lui avaient jusque-là échappé. Cerise sur le gâteau, au détour d’un rayon, il tombera aussi sur ce qui ressemble pas mal à l’amour… Mais différence de culture oblige, là non plus, il ne sera pas au bout de ses peines !
