Feb 03, 2022After three unsuccessful attempts at the Olympics, the 30-year-old Aljona Savchenko finally wants to win a gold medal with a new partner in four years. A rather bold plan, especially since the young Frenchman Bruno Massot, chosen by the German-Ukrainian ice princess, has no international successes in pairs figure skating. He moves to Germany and has no idea of the manic perfectionist he's getting involved with. Aljona's training is tough. Constant disputes about the right course threaten to bring the project to failure. Two completely different characters collide. However, the team of trainers manages to calm things down. February 2018: The competition at the Winter Olympics in South Korea begins with the short program. Inexplicably, Bruno blunders and the pair sit fourth by a wide gap. Gold is hardly possible anymore. It only remains for them to show the world their unique free skating. Their intoxicating, perfect run will go down in history. It will be the free skating of their life!

Feb 24, 2006Today with Des and Mel was a British television series hosted by Des O'Connor and Melanie Sykes. The show featured celebrity guests, phone-in competitions and chat between the hosts. It was produced by Carlton Television, at The London Studios. The show was previously produced at Teddington Studios for the first series.
Today with Des and Mel was loosely based on the format of the popular American television show, Live with Regis and Kelly.
At one stage, the show was given the green light for an evening version to be made. For a short time in January 2005, the show appeared in a 5 p.m. slot, but this was soon dropped, and a full prime-time version never came about.
ITV announced on 12 May 2006, that the show had been axed.

Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice
Aug 29, 2006Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice was an Australian reality television series which was based on the original British version, Dancing on Ice. The series premiered on the Nine Network on Tuesday, 11 July 2006 at 7:30 pm, and involved celebrities ice dancing on a specially constructed ice rink located in Sydney's north-west suburbs. The series ran for one season before being axed, and the winner of the competition was model Jake Wall. The series reportedly cost several million dollars to produce, but only regularly managed above-average ratings at best. A reunion special which would feature all ten celebrities talking about their experiences on the show, and answering questions from a live studio audience, as well as Torvill and Dean themselves making a very special guest appearance in the studio congratulating the contestants, hosts and indeed, home viewers for voting, had been planned, but that too was cancelled following the show's axing.
