L'histoire commence avec Makoto Segawa, un étudiant de première année à l'Université Meikei. Le jour de sa cérémonie d'entrée à l'université, Makoto rencontre une fille au visage frais et excentrique nommée Shizuru. Makoto a un complexe qui le fait fuir le contact avec les autres, mais elle réussit à le faire s'ouvrir naturellement à elle. Tout ce que Shizuru veut, c'est être avec Makoto, alors elle prend aussi un appareil photo. Les deux passent leurs journées ensemble à prendre des photos dans la forêt derrière le campus. Cependant, Makoto a des sentiments pour un autre étudiant nommé Miyuki. Shizuru décide que si Makoto aime Miyuki, elle veut l'aimer aussi. Elle veut aimer tout ce qu'il fait. Un jour, elle dit à Makoto qu'elle veut les prendre en photo en train de s'embrasser dans la forêt comme cadeau pour "son anniversaire". Il oblige pour elle, et ils s'embrassent dans la forêt.
