Where? Far from home,from work and his boss, far from city traffic and his alarm clock, far from the monotony of his life... The farthest away possible. At the end of another week of work Rossi returns home with the intention of enjoying a quiet and peaceful weekend. He lives with Gastone, his dog-friend,who, after a week of loneliness, can't wait to go out, for instance to the movies, and have fun. Gastone as a matter of fact is a passionate fan of movies, television and heroes' books. He always compares Rossi with them and nags with a petulant : "Rossi, Rossi, if you only were...braver, stronger, richer...". His continuous complaints push Rossi to identify himself with those heroes; throughout the film we will meet Rossi-Tarzan, Rossi-Astronaut, Rossi-Sherlock Holmes, Rossi-Zorro, Rossi-Hollywood actor, Rossi-scientist, Rossi-Lancelot, Rossi-Aladdin. Eight fantastic adventures in which Rossi, along with faithful Gastone, relishes the joy of being a hero.

A story about Mr. Rossi and his dog who go on vacation and all the adventures they have, from leading an animal revolt to climbing the Andes, or heading to the beach and being serenaded by strange fish.

It's excitement all round when a wedding invitation arrives and the Pingu family make their way to the gathering. However things do not go quite as planned with an absentee groom, a new arrival and the havoc wreaked by a damaged gift.

Cette série met en vedette un homme au tracé simple vivant sur une ligne horizontale qui n’a de limite que par la volonté du crayon de son dessinateur. Celui-ci, dont on ne voit ponctuellement de lui qu’une main et son crayon, crée l’univers dans lequel vit ce sympathique personnage primaire au langage propre, sans nom officiel mais parfois appelé Balou ou Monsieur Linea selon les pays. Sa voix est celle de Carlo Bonomi. Quand il se retrouve devant un problème, Balou fait appel à l'artiste qui dessine, au fur et à mesure, des éléments de décor. À chaque fin d'émission, Cavandoli laisse généralement son personnage tomber dans le vide.

Le héros de cette série, le journaliste Brian Thompson, nous fait revivre les grandes rencontres de la coupe du monde de football. L'histoire commence de la première coupe de 1930 en Uruguay jusqu'à celle de 1994 qui a eu lieu aux États-Unis dans laquelle on nous dépeint également la vie de Thompson de sa jeunesse jusqu'à nos jours. On voit renaître brillamment le jeu spectaculaire de joueurs tels que Franz Beckenbauer, Gard Müller, Eusebio et le plus grand d'entre tous, le roi Pelé.
