1844. Miranda se rend au château de Dragonwyck pour s'occuper de la petite fille de Nicholas Van Ryn, dont l'épouse est sur le point de mourir. When Navy pilot Dale Heath takes off, he doesn't expect his navigational equipment to fail and must adapt when it goes out along with his radio. He finally storms out of the house when Cora falsely accuses him of having an affair with Mavis Pruitt.
