Cet anime nous raconte les aventures de Meimi, une élève dans un établissement privé catholique. Meimi a une double vie : elle est une lycéenne gentille et aussi la redoutable Kaitou Saint Tail qui vole des objets pour les remettre à leur véritable propriétaire. Elle est aidé par son amie Seira qui est la "soeur" qui s'occupe de l'église après les cours. Seira reçoit beaucoup de confidence de la part des fidèles qui viennent prier. Souvent des personnes à qui ont a dérobé un objets cher viennent les pleurer auprès de Seira et c'est alors que Kaitou Saint Tail apparait et rend cet objet à son véritable propriétaire. Cependant, l'inspecteur Asuka ainsi que sont fils Asuka Jr l'attendent de pied ferme. La situation est encore plus embarrassante étant donné que Asuka Jr est dans la même classe que Meimi et que son charme ne la laisse pas indifférente.
