Jun 27, 2013Avant Bad Brains, avant les Sex Pistols, avant les Ramones, avant même le punk, il y avait les proto punk rockers black de Death. Un trio composé de Bobby, David et Dannis Hackney. Les trois frangins ont enregistré en 1976 un single, Politicians in my eyes, avant de tomber dans l’oubli. La faute à l’intransigeance du groupe qui n’a pas voulu changé de nom pour signer avec une maison de disques… La faute à cette infection du dance floor qui relégua le rock aux oubliettes : le disco.
Depuis, de l’eau a coulé sous les ponts. Les Hackney Brothers ont déménagé dans le Vermont, l’aîné, David, a succombé à un cancer du poumon en 2000, Bobby et Dannis ont formé un groupe de reggae (Lamsbread)…
