Tout commence le jour où un couple de lycéens, Horikiri Chiyomi et Minami Susumu trouvent une mystérieuse citation dans un biscuit chinois. "Si tu restes près de lui, il deviendra exceptionnel et vous serez ensemble pour longtemps. Cependant, quand vous vous éloignerez, des choses horribles se produiront". Comme l'a annoncé la prophétie, le jour-même où Minami décide de quitter Chiyomi, une malédiction frappe cette dernière. Elle rapetisse jusqu'à une taille d'à peine 16 centimètres ! Enzo, a school art teacher, is the pillar of a rather unusual family. He takes care of his 5-year-old daughter but does not know who her mother is, and he also lives with his four siblings whose fathers are all different. Basé sur le roman de Tomiko Miyao, Tenshō-in Atsuhime, ce drama nous conte la vie de la jeune Okatsu (Atsu-hime) qui deviendra plus tard la femme du 13ème Shogun Tokugawa Iesada. Okatsu, née dans la province de Satsuma, appartient à une branche éloigné de la famille Shimazu… Un jour elle attire l'attention du chef de famille Shimazu Nariakira qui décide alors de l'adopter pour en faire la femme du Shogun. Le Japon est ici en plein tumulte puisque le commandant Perry force l'ouverture du pays au reste du monde. Le drama nous plonge donc dans les difficultés d'Atsu-hime au sein de l'Ooku et dans celles de la restauration Meiji…

The hero, Mamiya Shinjuro, earned his embalmer's license in the United States, but for reasons that will probably be easier to understand once the series starts, he is working in a Tokyo hospital as a janitor. In the premiere episode, a friend of one of the nurse's is killed in an accident. The woman had just been made the principal soloist in a ballet company and was about to get married to the man of her dreams. The woman's fiancee, hearing of Mamiya's special skills, asks him to restore her corpse to the way she looked when she was alive.
