Ce soir Mrs Jekyll reçoit pour les fiançailles de son fils, en effet, le docteur Henry Jekyll, va se lier à Fanny Osbourne. Après le repas, le notaire est convoqué par Henry dans son laboratoire; là il reçoit le testament du médecin, en faveur d'un certain Edward Hyde. Sylvie Drapier is an attractive 40-year old surgeon, specializing in liver transplants, who heads a department in the foremost clinic of a small country town.
