Giovanni, surnommé Banana, est un jeune adolescent passionné de football, mais terriblement maladroit ! Il est surtout très philosophe. Il réfléchit profondément au bonheur, et aux moyens qui lui permettraient de l'atteindre. Il veut se persuader que la vie n'est pas " complètement nulle " comme son entourage, empêtré dans un quotidien semé d'embûches, semble le penser. Selon lui, c'est l'amour qui le sauvera de la grisaille. Et son amour à lui, c'est Jessica. Pour conquérir son cœur, Giovanni a un plan : la sauver du redoublement. Au quotidien comme sur le terrain, Giovanni ne souhaite plus rester en défense, il veut attaquer avec détermination !

Alice et Mattia, solitaires et inadaptés, tels des nombres premiers, sont tous deux hantés par des évènements tragiques survenus durant leur enfance.
