Ibrahim works at Badul Holdings as a General Manager. He is a very fierce man in the office but afraid of his wife. She has a maid named Nor. One day, Tuan Badul visits his land which is a squatter village. He wants the villagers to move but when he meets Nor, everything changes.

Karim (Abdullah Chik) and Khatijah (Rose Yatimah) are undergraduates at the University of Malaya pursuing degrees in Medicine and History respectively. They are young, progressive in their thinking, and very much in love with each other. On a visit back home, Khatijah discovers that she is arranged to be married, without her knowledge, to the local village 'lebai' (healer), Din, who is a recent widower and father of six. Khatijah is torn between her fledging love for Karim and her adherence to centuries of tradition. Determined to win the hand of Khatijah, Karim sets aside his prejudiced view of the "mystical arts" and travels deep into the wilderness of Malaysia to study under a respected traditional healer, Pak Salleh (Dollah Sarawak).

It tells the story of Latifah, or her original name Noraini who is taken care of by her adoptive family. This film is a heavy drama about the downfall of moral values of a family when proper religion teaching is not being instilled in them since they were small. Having a very good career and being respected by others around you wont determine that you will get the same kind of treatment with your own flesh and blood. As a teacher Mr. Talib is the best there could ever be but as to bringing up his own kids he is clearly a failure. Apart from the troubles he has faced at home with his family he is also waiting for death.
