Le jeune Isamu, dont le père est océanologue, découvre pour la première fois la mer en compagnie de son guépard apprivoisé Shiita. Mais alors qu’il prévoit d’accompagner un ami de son père sur les hauteurs d’un volcan éteint, une éruption se produit d’où surgit un gigantesque dragon. Isamu et Shiita parviennent à s’enfuir tant bien que mal en compagnie d’une jeune fille répondant au prénom d’Ange. Celle-ci les entraîne au fond de la mer avec ses deux gardes du corps, Octopus et Tortue. Isamu apprend alors qu’Ange est en réalité la fille du roi d’un monde situé sous la mer dont les ancêtres ont dû fuir la terre ferme après une attaque de dragons fomentée par le maléfique Magma. Son descendant actuel, Magma VII, roi du royaume souterrain, envisage de conquérir le monde terrestre et de prendre la place de ses habitants...

According to the accusation by GHQ, Toyomatsu "attemped to kill a US prisoner", which was nothing but an order by his superior and failed after all with hurting the prisoner by weak Toyomatsu. Also, Toyomatsu was driven to corner at the trial by the fact that he fed the US prisoner some burdock roots to nourish him. Toyomatsu believes nothing but being not guilty, but he is sentenced to death by hanging. Prior to the execution, Toyomatsu writes a long farewell letter to his family, the wife and the only son: "If I ever incarnate, I hate to be a human being any more.... Oh yes, I would like to be...a shellfish living on the rock-bottom of the sea."
