In 1940, Masaaki Takaoka works as a teacher in the agricultural division at a youth training institute. Although Japan’s defeat seems imminent, all of Masaaki’s students are drafted in a futile last-ditch effort. Suzume Akamatsu works at a library in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture. She delivers books by riding a bicycle. Through her work, Suzume grows as a person.

Tokyo Family Court judicial research official Akira Yamanobo is in charge of Tetsuo and Ayano Katase's divorce arbitration. This show marks the return of the jidaigeki series "Hissatsu Shigotonin," which has had several seasons between the 1970s and the 1990s. The franchise came back in 2007 with a one-shot special, but this is its first full season since 1992. Makoto Fujita returns as the protagonist Nakamura Mondo, one of the "shigotonin," a team of hired assassins.

A love-hate drama series that follows Noyama Honoka as a florist shop owner who finds her comfortable life messed up by distrust and suspicion when she receives a letter that her newlywed husband Masamichi is hiding a secret from her. As time goes on, she begins to become suspicious of the women around Masamichi, and her negative emotions develop into ones of betrayal and revenge.

Aoi is a moe-type maid working on a wealthy Osaka estate. In reality, though, she is an undercover detective sent by the police on a special mission to investigate a suspect.
