The painter Lauro seems to have a good life: he lives with his beloved wife Erika, and is successful working with art. However, he is not happy. One day, Lauro runs into Theo, a friend he hasn't seen in years. Both have already been in love with the same girl, Clara, who no longer lives in the city. It doesn't take long for the two to start remembering them as stories from the past, while taking a long walk through the streets of Vitória.

Heitor is a bachelor who shoots fancy weddings for a living, but gets in trouble when he meets Penélope, a woman desperate to stop her lover's wedding.

Commander Vasco Moscoso de Aragão entertains the small town of Periperi with the stories of his many adventures travelling around the world as a captain of the merchant navy. Stubborn Chico Pacheco is the only one in town who doesn't believe his tales.

Based on the original version of same name created by Cris Morena, the series tells the story of a group of orphans living in a manor, known as Raio de Luz, struggling and being guided by a young woman, Carol, that assumes a maternal figure for them. Their experiences such as discovering first love, deceptions, loneliness and friendship, as well as adventures in fantasy, are depicted throughout the series. The narrative is followed by musical themes and videoclips.
