Oct 05, 1991How could Quo top their fantastic 25th year? By staging the most spectacular and lunatic stunt ever. The Rock 'Til You Drop extravaganza took place on the 21st September 1991 across 4 venues; Sheffield Arena, Glasgow SECC, Birmingham NEC and finishing it off in Wembley Arena. The band started at the BBC TV centre doing a playback performance on 'Going Live' to kick off the day... They kicked off in Sheffield on stage around 2pm, then headed down to Glasgow were they arrived on stage 2 minutes late (4:32pm), 30 minutes late on stage in Birmingham (7:30pm) and when the band arrived at Wembley they was 50 minutes late! But that didn't stop the band from making a record of their own.

Pink Floyd: The Final Cut
Mar 21, 1983Pink Floyd released a 19-minute "video EP" in 1983 for The Final Cut, essentially four music videos in a continuous sequence, directed by Willie Christie, who was Roger Waters' brother-in-law. Scottish actor Alex McAvoy, who played the teacher in the film version of The Wall, had a prominent role in the video EP. Waters appears (though all but his mouth is silhouetted) as a patient singing the lyrics to a psychologist on the grounds of the Fletcher Memorial Home.

L'émission était également truffée de fausses pubs et de fausses bandes-annonces, sans oublier L'Édition, un faux journal télévisé du soir présenté par Maurice Chevalier (Alain Chabat) et Pénélope Solète (Chantal Lauby). Bruno Carette apparaissait dans chaque émission, dans la séquence La redif, qui était la rediffusion de sketches de l'époque d’Objectif Nul, Nulle part ailleurs, TVN 595 ou A.B.C.D. Nuls.

L'émission doit son nom au fait qu'elle est réalisée en direct du Pavillon Gabriel, situé avenue Gabriel, le long de l'avenue des Champs-Élysées à Paris. L'indicatif musical du générique de l'émission a été composée par Jean-Pierre Bourtayre et Jean-Claude Petit. La chorégraphie du générique a été composée par Redha.
