Katherine Winter a quitté l'habit de missionnaire après le meurtre, au Soudan, de son mari et de sa petite fille. Professeur d'université, elle consacre désormais tous ses efforts à démystifier les phénomènes "surnaturels" et à en fournir une explication scientifique et rationnelle.
