John O'Hara

Ian Anderson Plays the Orchestral Jethro Tull is a live album and DVD by Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson, featuring the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt, conducted by John O'Hara. The DVD was recorded at the Rosengarten in Mannheim on 8 December 2004. The concert was part of a series of the same name. Anderson, O'Hara, and the orchestra toured Europe and the United States throughout 2004 and 2006.

Le célèbre album concept de Jethro Tull "Thick As A Brick" est sorti à l'origine en 1972 et comportait une piste continue répartie sur les deux faces d'un LP racontant l'histoire d'un jeune garçon appelé Gerald Bostock. 40 ans plus tard, en 2012, le fondateur et leader de Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson, a créé "Thick As A Brick 2 : What Happened To Gerald Bostock?". Suite à cette sortie, Ian Anderson a pris les deux albums sur la route pour interpréter l'histoire complète de Gerald Bostock et ce concert de la tournée a été filmé en Islande. Le spectacle combine musique, écrans vidéo et mime pour donner vie au conte de Gerald.

"Live at AVO Session Basel" est un enregistrement vidéo du concert donné par le groupe britannique Jethro Tull en 2008 lors du festival AVO Session à Bâle, en Suisse. Sorti en 2009, ce DVD capture une performance énergique du groupe, mêlant classiques intemporels et morceaux moins connus.
