A recollection of a night spent walking the streets of the Eternal City, following the steps of two young boys: Vlad, a modern Romanian boy of life, and Cosimo who has just moved to the city. Both cross the city from head to toe in search of redemption, liberation or perhaps a place to hide. To find it they will go as far as the sea, as far as the body of a young prostitute, but they will find it, perhaps, only in the feeling that brings them together and binds them.

Leo has a dream: to make a movie in the great outskirts of the metropolis (Rome). He does anything for money, including selling cocaine. But his dream vanishes in the night when the police catch his friend.

Un avocat radié (Giancarlo Giannini) travaille comme agent de recouvrement pour son partenaire Sapo (Philippe Léotard). Escortant la prostituée Milena (Raffaella Baracchi) imprégnée de Sapo dans une station balnéaire sans nom à l'atmosphère grotesque (filmée à Lido di Ostia), il rencontre l'ambitieuse jeune meneuse Molecola (François Negret) qui a acheté plusieurs anciens sites de loisirs dans les environs pour transformer le ville dans un "Las Vegas italien" mais le bar de l'hôtel nommé Snack Bar Budapest dirigé par un homme (Carlo Monni) et sa famille reste un obstacle. Molecola a besoin d'un avocat pour légitimer l'évacuation forcée du Snack Bar Budapest et l'avocat est d'accord. Cependant, un meurtre qu'il commet le met en désaccord avec Molecola.

Nino is a pianist, he runs into Valentina in the underground and falls for her. Valentina is rich but she tells nothing to Nino who is proud. Andrea was the boy of Valentina before Nino and wants to marry her for her money. Nino leaves Valentina when he finds out that she is rich while Andrea, turned down again, kidnaps Valentina.

Suite à un marathon de danse, le jeune homosexuel Franco (Ray Lovelock) fait la connaissance de Anna, alias Nini Ponpon (Anna Maria Rizzoli), célèbre pin up qui étale régulièrement ses charmes dans un roman photo érotique. Jaloux, Nicole, le copain travesti de Franco (Enzo Cerusico) menace de se suicider. Ne retrouvant plus la trace de Nicole, Franco se rend alors au commissariat pour faire part de son inquiétude au Commissaire Pecorella (Aldo Maccione), homophobe convaincu. Sous surveillance policière, Franco trouve refuge chez son oncle, le juge Sparvieri (Renzo Montagnani), l'un des pontes de la censure italienne, qui le croit être un jeune homme bien comme il faut. Tellement qu'il souhaite le présenter à la fille d'un élu, Président d'une association pour la sauvegarde de la morale.

The exploitation of young men as prostitutes in the district around the Roman coliseum is the focus of Simon Bischoff's documentary and fiction piece that spares no close-up view of male anatomy. This latter trait reveals just as much about the tenor of this film as it does about the body. Several years earlier, Bischoff met the main 17-year-old protagonist here, "Er Moretto," when he was just a 13-year-old runaway. The intervening years show how he changed into a streetwise vendor of sex, and Bischoff also details how the 17-year-old is picked up by a middle-aged man to be his companion. Fiction segments do not fare as well as the documentary aspects of this work, which in the end, seems at least ambiguous, if not questionable, in its intent.

In Rome's notorious gay club, the Alibi, men date, love and quarrel. Meanwhile, on stage, the classic drama of Salomé is played but with surprising variations, In the end, a clown goes out through the city's streets saying a monologue that explains it all, while satirizing the bourgeoisie.
