Suite au décès de son épouse, le chef professionnel CHENG se rend avec son jeune fils dans un village éloigné de Finlande pour rencontrer un vieil ami finlandais rencontré à Shanghai. À son arrivée, personne dans le village ne semble connaître son ami, mais la propriétaire du café local Sirkka lui propose un hébergement. En retour, Cheng l’aide dans sa cuisine à surprendre les locaux avec les délices de la cuisine chinoise. Progressivement, sa cuisine encourage ces cultures très différentes à se connecter et Cheng est bientôt un membre célèbre de la communauté. Malheureusement, son visa de touriste va bientôt être épuisé et il appartient aux villageois d'élaborer un plan pour l'aider à rester.

And it’s worth living for. The movie contains breathtaking Lapland views and is peppered with Marius Ivaškevičius specialty humor.
