Renée Fleming joue le rôle-titre de l’un des plus grands drames de Haendel, dans la production de Stephen Wadsworth vue pour la première fois au Met en 2004. Rodelinda est confrontée à un dilemme impossible : son mari Bertarido étant présumé mort, elle doit soit épouser le méprisé Grimoaldo (l'élégant Joseph Kaiser) qui a usurpé le trône de son mari, soit le voir assassiner son fils. Mais Bertarido (le contre-ténor principal Andreas Scholl) est vivant et finit par récupérer à la fois le trône et sa femme et fait la paix avec ses ennemis. Stephanie Blythe est merveilleuse dans le rôle d'Eduige, la sœur de Bertarido, fiancée à Grimoaldo mais qui se retourne contre lui. L'autorité baroque est dirigée par Harry Bicket.

Jean-Marie Villegier's modern interpretation of Handel's "Rodelinda" – filmed live at the world-renowned Glyndebourne Opera House in the United Kingdom, sets the timeless tale of jealousy and treachery in the black-and-white world of the silent-movie era. Soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci sings the title role of Rodelinda, with tenor Kurt Streit and bass Umberto Chiummo performing the parts of Grimoaldo and Garibaldo, respectively.

Heirs to the celebrated castrati of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, today's countertenors produce their voices by wholly natural means. In this programme international stars Michael Chance, Andreas Scholl and James Bowman, as well as popstar Jimmy Somerville, shed light on the appeal of the male falsetto. Meanwhile, experts such as Michael White place today's countertenors in their historical context. What emerges is a compelling portrayal of an unmistakable vocal style, rooted in church and operatic tradition, yet completely up-to-date, resonating louder today than at any time in the last two hundred years.

Max Emanuel Cencic and Philippe Jaroussky, two of today's singing stars, take us back in time and talk about operatic entertainment in the Baroque Age. This is illustrated by paintings and prints from the time as well as major performances of today. In this film, many countertenors are featured in famous roles and in interviews, amongst them Jochen Kowalski, Andreas Scholl, David Daniels, Daniel Behle and Valer Barna-Sabadus.

Famed countertenor Andreas Scholl sings the title role of Roman emperor Julius Caesar in this memorable production of Georg Friederich Handel's "Giulio Cesare," staged at the Royal Danish Opera. Transporting the action from ancient times to the present day, director Francisco Negrin paints a passionate portrait of Caesar's storied romance with the Egyptian queen Cleopatra (played by soprano Inger Dam-Jensen).

Le monde est à vous est une émission télévisée de divertissement conçue et présentée par Jacques Martin entre 1987 à 1997 sur la chaine Antenne 2 (devenue France 2 en 1992). Elle succédait à l'émission Tout le Monde le sait (1985-1986) dans la tranche Dimanche Martin. Il y avait trois candidats qui devaient répondre à des questions sur des sujets multiples: celui qui enregistrait le plus de points décrochait le voyage de son choix. Il y avait tous types de variété, chanson française, internationale mais également de la musique classique. Et assez fréquemment Jacques Martin interprétait une chanson qui rappelait l'époque de sa jeunesse (il avait 55 ans en 1988). Cette émission a été remplacée en septembre 1997 par Sous vos applaudissements.
