When he returns next day the apartment is empty and Leonor is gone. At first Ricardo thinks that it is only a game, but there are no phone calls or messages and after a while he gets worried and starts looking for her. He discovers that she has quit school without telling him and that she has lost all contact with her old friends. She has become a complete stranger.

Au son de la voix du poète José Alfonso, les troupes insurgées prennent les casernes. À 3 heures du matin, elles marchent sur Lisbonne. Peu après le triste putsch militaire au Chili, la Révolution des Œillets se distingue par le caractère aventureux, mais aussi pacifique et lyrique de son déroulement. Ces 24 heures de révolution sont vécues par trois personnages : deux capitaines et une jeune femme, professeur de lettres et journaliste.
