This historical movie is about the situation of Ganja and Karabakh khanates between Russia and Iran war.

Residents are slowly leaving the village due to thirst. Only one family, aunt Nakhish and man Rahim, endured a thousand hardships to guard the grave of Allahverdi, their only child who died in the Karabakh war.

Nabat et son mari Iskender ancien garde forestier âgé et très malade, vivent dans une petite maison isolée loin du village. Depuis un certain temps la guerre s’est installée dans le pays et leur fils a été tué au front. Les seules ressources du couple consistent en la vente du lait produit par leur unique vache que Nabat apporte tous les deux jours au village. L’ombre de la guerre enveloppe progressivement la région et le village est peu à peu abandonné par ses occupants. After fulfilling his duty in Afghan War, Zaur returns to his home Baku. He is trying to clarify the truth when he heard that his father was arrested.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s the Armenian minority in Nagorono-Karabakh attempted to break away from Azerbaijan, one of the former Soviet republics. Overnight these former neighbors became enemies, and simple village folk were suddenly made hostages in a complex power game. One of the Azerbaijani villages right on the border is home to the family of the peasant farmer Kerim, who has just been captured by the Armenians. The village council decides to take an Armenian in order to arrange a hostage exchange. They imprison the wounded man in the barn next to Kerim's house, where his wife and three children desperately await the husband's return. The captive from the other side of the border finds himself in exactly the same situation - he, too, has three children, he finds it hard to scrape a living together, he has never done anything to harm anyone and, like Kerim, he just wants to go back home. But life in Karabakh is far more complex now. Blood calls for blood.

A man goes to prison for years for a crime his cousin committed. After his release he moves to his native village and lives a simple life. But when his cousin comes to visit, his old thoughts of revenge return.

The film is about frontier-guards who averts the diversion in hydroelectric power station which was built by another state.

The film tells the story of a man, who was in prison when the invaders occupied his native land. When he gets out from prison, he tries to find ways to visit his parents’ graves, which are located on the occupied lands now.

A modern Azerbaijani woman’s life is non stop all day as she juggles traditional and secular roles, her life subsumed by service for others while rarely getting the respect she deserves. Throughout the film we see how things are changing in progressive Azerbaijan, and how some things don’t change; like her, it is a country at a crossroads of seeming contradictions. This is the story of "a" woman, elements of whom are universal.

The film is about the inner suffering and conflictions of Yavar, father of a soldier, who can't give the news of his son's death in the war to his heart-sick wife.

The moral suffering of the lieutenant who unknowingly sneezes on the head of the general.
