Dec 25, 2001Londres, 1911. Une conférence paléontologique tenue par le professeur Summerlee est interrompue par le professeur Challenger, tout juste rentré d'une expédition en Amérique du Sud. Ce dernier avance l'hypothèse de l'existence de dinosaures vivants quelque part en Amazonie, sur un plateau encore inconnu et inexploré de l'Homme. Malgré la risée de l'assemblée, il fait alors part de son projet d'expédition pour repartir sur place et découvrir ce « monde perdu ». Se joignent au voyage de Challenger le journaliste Edward Malone, le chasseur Lord John Roxton et le professeur Summerlee lui-même (qui, armé de son esprit critique académique, n'attend qu'une occasion pour prouver la supercherie de son confrère). Le jeune Malone s'embarque surtout pour sa fiancée Gladys, qu'il aimerait à tout prix séduire en lui prouvant sa valeur par un acte héroïque.

The Brittas Empire
Feb 24, 1997The Brittas Empire is a British sitcom created and originally written by Andrew Norriss and Richard Fegen. Chris Barrie plays Gordon Brittas, the well-meaning but incompetent manager of Whitbury New Town Leisure Centre.
The show ran for seven series and 53 episodes — including two Christmas specials — from 1991 to 1997 on BBC1. Norriss and Fegen wrote the first five series, after which they left the show.
The Brittas Empire enjoyed a long and successful run throughout the 1990s, and gained itself large mainstream audiences. In 2004 the show came 47th on the BBC's Britain's Best Sitcom poll, and all series have been released on DVD.
The creators Andrew Norriss and Richard Fegen often combine farce with either surreal or dramatic elements in episodes. For example in the first series, the leisure centre prepares for a royal visit, only for the doors to seal, the boiler room to flood and a visitor to become electrocuted. Unlike the traditional sitcom, deaths were quite common in The Brittas Empire.

Only one television series was made, and Hamilton felt mistreated by the BBC over the scheduling of the show. The first episode attracted an average of 3.4 million viewers, dropping to 2.9 million for the second and third episodes. The subsequent episodes were rescheduled from Friday evenings to Monday nights, despite the Radio Times issues having already been published listing the originally scheduled transmission dates. Hamilton went public with his displeasure over the show's scheduling and vowed never to work for BBC1 again, though he has since changed his mind. A radio version was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2004, with subsequent series in 2005 and 2007.
The series is set in the world of TS Sports – a sports public relations firm, run by Trevor Heslop and his partner, the lascivious Sammy Dobbs. Trevor is portrayed as an essentially decent, honest man in the corrupt money-obsessed industry of sporting celebrity, who is still deeply in love with his estranged wife Meryl. Andy Hamilton also appears in a minor role within the show, and several actors who have worked in his other comedy shows for television and radio appear. Neil Pearson was in Hamilton's Drop the Dead Donkey, as was Michael Fenton Stevens who plays TS Sports' only regular client, fading celebrity Ralph Renton.
