Slovak musicologist Agata Schindlerová, now settled in Dresden, has spent years mapping out the forgotten destinies of Jewish musicians whose lives were irrevocably marked by the advance of nazism. Scenes from the lives of several of them are portrayed in the film In Silence (ballet dancer Alice Flachová, pianist and conductor Karol Ebert, composer, conductor and director of the Dresden Theatre Arthur Chitz, pianist Edith Kraus, and the vocal ensemble Comedian Harmonists), which draws a sharp contrast between the protagonists’ carefree existence working and making music during the pre-war era and the subsequent severe upheaval in their lives brought on by the proliferation of nazism.

Le directeur d’une école élémentaire convoque une réunion spéciale avec les parents d’élèves pour statuer sur le cas de Madame Drazděchová, une professeure compatissante et agréable en apparence qui est accusée d’utiliser ses élèves pour manipuler leurs parents afin de bénéficier de services en tout genre, de biens matériels et même d’une relation sentimentale. L’une des familles osera-t-elle s’opposer à cette enseignante sans scrupules, ou est-ce que cette dernière maintiendra son emprise grâce à ce système tacite ?

City of the Shadows is original Slovak crime TV series, broadcast since April 11, 2008 on the Markíza. It was produced by DNA Production company. The episodes are based on real events. TV series received the "Televízna udalosť roka“ Award by film critics.
