Brooks is an eccentric rich kid, with a fondness for big band music, bow ties taking strange photographs who one day whilst stealing a mannequin from a clothes store, meets Anne, a free-spirited, young deaf girl who works in the shop. It's a meeting that will transform his life. As their friendship blossoms he starts to learn sign-language and she helps him to conquer his fear of water but with a bullying brother, insensitive overbearing father and his father's peculiar new girlfriend all pressurising him to be 'normal' will Brooks be able to break free from their boundaries and his own fears and limitations to find the meaning of true and selfless love.

Nick Hart is a struggling American artist who lives amongst the expatriate community in 1920s Paris. He spends most of his time drinking and socializing in local café's and pestering gallery owner Libby Valentin to sell his paintings. He becomes involved in a plot by wealthy art patroness Nathalie de Ville to forge three paintings. This leads to several run-ins with American rubber magnate Bertram Stone, who happens to be married to Hart's ex-wife Rachel.

Sous des pulsions incontrôlables, elle tue son père adoptif, libère un groupe de Scanners enfermés dans un hôpital, et conçoit un plan qui doit permettre de réduire le monde à l'esclavage. Désormais, personne ne peut résister à la force terrifiante des Scanners. Personne sauf un de leur semblables... Alex... En sera-t-il capable ?

Son héros a pour nom Michel (Mathew Mackay), un garçon de 11 ans qui grandit dans un nid douillet, entouré de sa grande soeur et d'un père peintre et rêvasseur. Mais voilà que sa curiosité l'entraîne dans une maison incendiée, dont il ressortira si effrayé qu'il en perdra bientôt tous ses cheveux. Terré dans sa maison, Michel reçoit la visite d'un couple de fantômes, qui lui livrent la recette magique pour faire repousser sa chevelure : un étrange mélange d'ingrédients liés par une bonne dose de beurre de "pinottes"; ! La recette fonctionnera un peu trop bien, laissant Michel et sa bande d'amis aux prises avec un fabricant de pinceaux fou furieux
