Le Carré Saint-Louis est l’âme poétique de Montréal. Il est un peu à Montréal ce que la Place du Tertre est à Paris ; un petit parc urbain hanté par l’esprit de nombreux artistes qui ont contribué à forger l’identité culturelle québécoise. C’est bien lui qui se dessinait par-delà le jardin de givre à la fenêtre d’Émile Nelligan. C’est aussi sur l’un de ses bancs, qu’en 1985 Dany Laferrière y écrivait son premier roman « Comment faire l’amour avec un nègre sans se fatiguer ». Le documentaire Carré Saint-Louis vous convie à une incursion poético-historique dans la petite histoire de ce square emblématique qui pendant plus d’un siècle fut un lieu de convergence de la bohème, de marginaux, d’artistes et des plus fervents indépendantistes.
