Júlia est professeur de littérature anglaise, elle a 35 ans et s’efforce de reconstruire sa vie après avoir vécu une longue et intense relation amoureuse avec Antônia. Au milieu d’une série de conflits internes et face à la nécessité de se réadapter à une vie nouvelle, elle fait part de ses sentiments sans cacher sa souffrance. Tout au long du film, elle rencontre et se lie à d’autres personnes qui vivent aussi, chacune à leur façon, l’expérience d’avoir perdu quelque chose de très important dans leur vie.
